A family tradition
A Season of Giving
Opening Nov. 1st
A Christmas Tradition Between Two Sisters
My younger sister is a childhood cancer survivor. That part of our family's story makes this Christmas tradition especially meaningful to us. We know that the season can look very different for a child spending it in hospital, and we wanted to offer a little kindness.
When we were planning our Christmas donation, the hospital's donation coordinator estimated that there were about 60 children receiving cancer care at the time. That conversation gave us a starting point. With those children in mind, we chose to aim for 100 goodie bags.
For Christmas 2025, my sister and I, with help from our family and donors, assembled 100 goodie bags. We dropped them off at Texas Children's Hospital for hospital staff to distribute to the children.
Each bag was a small gift, made possible by people who chose to help. This page is a place to keep that tradition, remember the kindness behind it, and make room for the Christmases ahead.
A little context
The children behind the numbers
Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center cares for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders. Its 2024 fact sheet reports that more than 600 new cancer patients are diagnosed each year. That number reflects newly diagnosed patients over a year, rather than the number of children admitted to the hospital or staying on a particular floor.
The coordinator's estimate of about 60 children was shared with us while we planned our donation. It was a moment in time, and it helped us choose our own goal of 100 bags. Behind every number is a child, a family, and a Christmas that deserves a little warmth.

A memory from our first Christmas

For the Christmases ahead
A little kindness goes a long way.
Future contributions will help us purchase supplies and assemble the Christmas goodie bags. Donations will support this family-organized tradition; they will not go directly to Texas Children's Hospital.
Opening Nov. 1st
We are preparing a secure way to give and confirming the hospital's fundraising and gift requirements before accepting contributions.
Total raised

Your choice of how to give
When giving opens, you will be able to choose a preset or custom amount and whether your contribution is public, anonymous, or fully private.
- Public: your approved display name and optional message may appear on the Wall of Kindness.
- Anonymous: your name stays hidden; only details you explicitly allow will appear.

Donor information will be shown only with permission.
With love, from two sisters to many little hearts.
